Role Overview
Duct Fabricator at GCG Engineering Services, part of Ghobash Group. The position is based in the GCC region and supports HVAC ductwork fabrication for precision instruments, metering systems, flow controls, heat exchangers, automation, and electrical and instrumentation projects across the Oil & Gas, Water, Power, and Industrial sectors.

Role Purpose
To fabricate high-quality HVAC ductwork, fittings, and accessories according to approved shop drawings and fabrication details, ensuring compliance with dimensional tolerances and quality standards while maintaining safety and minimizing material wastage.
Key Responsibilities
Fabrication & Assembly
- Fabricate HVAC ductwork, fittings, and accessories as per approved shop drawings and fabrication details.
- Measure, mark, cut, bend, fold, notch, and assemble GI, stainless steel, and aluminum duct sheets using appropriate fabrication tools and machinery.
- Install duct stiffeners, flanges, cleats, corners, and reinforcement as specified in fabrication drawings.
Equipment Operation
- Operate fabrication equipment such as guillotine shears, press brakes, Pittsburgh lock machines, lock formers, notchers, rollers, grooving machines, and spot welding machines safely and efficiently.
Quality & Inspection
- Ensure fabricated duct sections comply with approved dimensions, tolerances, and quality requirements.
- Inspect fabricated components for defects before dispatch to the installation team.
Technical Interpretation
- Read and interpret HVAC fabrication drawings, duct layouts, and cutting schedules.
Material & Resource Management
- Minimize material wastage by following approved cutting plans and fabrication procedures.
- Assist in loading, unloading, and proper storage of fabricated duct sections.
Maintenance & Coordination
- Maintain fabrication tools, machines, and work areas in good operating condition.
- Coordinate with the HVAC Foreman regarding fabrication priorities and production schedules.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Comply with company HSE policies and wear appropriate PPE during fabrication activities.
Qualifications & Experience
- ITI or Trade Certificate in Sheet Metal, Mechanical, HVAC, or equivalent technical trade.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Duct Fabricator in HVAC projects.
- Experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, LNG, or Industrial EPC projects is preferred.
- Experience in fabrication of GI, stainless steel, and aluminum ductwork is highly desirable.
Additional Information
- Must be able to work in outdoor environments under varying weather conditions.
- Will be required to work on high platforms or confined spaces, adhering strictly to safety standards.
- May be required to work overtime or extended shifts based on project deadlines.
