Draughtsman

Role Overview

Draughtsman position at Al Tayer Group. The role focuses on preparing and managing AutoCAD drawings throughout the project lifecycle, from concept to execution.

Role Purpose

Produce accurate, timely AutoCAD drawings and technical documentation that support project delivery. Ensure design intent is clearly communicated across the project team and that all deliverables meet client specifications and approval standards.

Key Responsibilities

Design Documentation

• Prepare all AutoCAD plans, sections, details, specifications and schedules according to timelines set by the principal, client or consultant during the project brief.
• Develop drawings from concept through to working drawings based on sketches, drawings and specifications provided by the client or in-house architect.
• Incorporate client or consultant-suggested changes to ensure timely approval.

Site and Quality Assurance

• Survey site and prepare as-built drawings.
• Explain drawing details and intricacies to relevant stakeholders.
• Ensure all drawings are accurate and complete to facilitate timely project execution.
• Check and verify that all deliverables are accurate and in accordance with specified requirements, including project variations and amendments.

Coordination and Communication

• Liaise with Architects, Project Managers and Quantity Surveyors to ensure they understand the design documents.
• Respond to requests for additional or supporting design information relevant to project development.
• Follow established computer protocols and formats.
• Coordinate with other team members to ensure consistency of drawing layout, style and presentation.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma in Architecture.
• 3–5 years of experience operating AutoCAD, preferably in construction or interior fit-out projects.
