Role Overview
Director, Product Management (Pricing & Assurance) at Mastercard, part of the EEMEA Product Management Team for Cross Border Payments. This role is based in the EEMEA region and sits within Mastercard's Transfer Solutions team.

Role Purpose
This is a Pricing and Assurance role focused on working with Product Sales teams and Account Managers to provide best commercial value to customers while safeguarding long-term financial interests for the company. You will work directly with customers to formulate the right value story and financial model, ensure the product delivers the best Value Proposition to clients and their customers, and drive the strategic and commercial agenda of Mastercard in the region focused on Cross Border Payments, including Low Value B2B/Commercial Payments, P2P Remittances and Purpose-based payments such as Bill Payments, Tuition Payments, Utility and Social Security.
Key Responsibilities
Pricing & Commercial Strategy
- Prepare and facilitate complex business cases at customer, deal and portfolio level to ensure the right investments, financial support and prioritization for opportunities worth the merit.
- Work with Product Sales teams and Account Managers to ensure provision of best commercial value to customers.
- Develop financial models and value propositions aligned with customer needs and Mastercard's commercial objectives.
- Partner with customers directly to formulate the right value story and financial model.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Own the budgeting and forecasting cycle for the business.
- Partner with Finance colleagues upstream and Sales colleagues downstream to project and hit business numbers.
- Ensure accurate financial projections and business number achievement.
Metrics & Performance Tracking
- Formulate and track underlying business driver and enabler metrics on a weekly, fortnightly and monthly basis with cross-functional teams.
- Monitor delivery timelines, growth rates and other relevant performance indicators.
- Establish governance and reporting structures to maintain visibility of key business metrics.
Executive Engagement & Reporting
- Deliver executive presentations outlining business direction.
- Facilitate QBR and MBR sessions with senior leaders and strategic clients.
- Partner in strategy refresh cycles to evaluate what is working versus what is not.
Program & Portfolio Management
- Act as PMO for key internal work-streams that affect revenue realization, including Network health and breadth, FX constructs and Deal Incentive structures.
- Lead work across overlapping ownership and influence within a highly matrixed organization.
Qualifications & Experience
- Demonstrated understanding of cross-border payments at its core and the levers that influence commercial health of products and business.
- Understanding of financial and reporting principles of key metrics that influence business development.
- Previous pricing role in the payments industry is a plus.
- Product FP&A experience is also a fit.
Skills & Competencies
- Very strong proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint, as these will be approximately 70% of the role focused on pricing, governance and reporting.
- Ability to work horizontally in a highly matrixed organization with overlapping ownership and influence.
- Ability to get work done through influence and reasoning rather than authority.
- Strong communication skills and temperament to lead client-facing conversations independently.
- Familiarity with cross-border payments landscape and the intricate dynamics of how money moves between institutions and borders.
- Knowledge of the role Correspondent and Bilateral Banking arrangements play in payment setups.
- Awareness of SWIFT and its evolution to ISO messaging standards.
- Understanding of existing Settlement and Funding mediums.
