Role Overview
Director of Finance at Tivoli Hotels & Resorts, leading pre-opening and launch financial operations for Tivoli Bilaj Al Jazayer Bahrain Resort and Avani Bilaj Al Jazayer Bahrain Resort in Bahrain.

Role Purpose
Establish robust financial controls, systems, and reporting structures for the pre-opening and launch phase of two luxury resort properties. Partner with the Hotel Manager and senior leadership to ensure strong financial governance, compliance, and long-term profitability from opening day.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Opening Planning & Setup
- Lead all pre-opening financial planning, including budgeting, forecasting, financial systems, and internal controls.
- Prepare and manage pre-opening budgets, opening balance sheets, and capital expenditure tracking.
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures in line with brand standards and local regulations.
Operations & Oversight
- Oversee all accounting, finance, procurement, cost control, and payroll functions for both properties.
- Implement strong controls to safeguard hotel assets, cash handling, inventory, and purchasing processes.
- Partner closely with department heads to provide financial guidance, cost control measures, and performance analysis.
Reporting & Compliance
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, including monthly financial statements, forecasts, and variance analysis.
- Ensure full compliance with statutory requirements, audits, tax regulations, and brand financial policies.
Strategic Support
- Support the Hotel Manager and ownership with strategic financial insights, cash flow management, and decision-making.
Team Leadership
- Establish and lead the finance team, including recruitment, training, and development during the pre-opening phase.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- Additional certificate such as ACCA, CMA, or similar (advantageous).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior finance or accounting position, or 2 years of experience in a similar capacity.
- High degree of professionalism with strong understanding of business acumen.
- Fully conversant in accounting principles and financial regulation standards.
Skills & Competencies
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Proficient in relevant financial and accounting reporting systems.
