Director of Data Platforms & Intelligence at webook.com, a Saudi Arabia-based event ticketing and experience booking platform. This is one of the most strategically significant leadership hires at the company.

Role Purpose
This role owns and integrates data platforms, analytics and insights, AI enablement, intelligence products, commercial data monetisation, and operational and executive decision intelligence. The leader transforms webook's data into a revenue-driving, intelligence-generating engine.
Key Responsibilities
Data Platform Strategy & Architecture
- Own the end-to-end data platform strategy aligned with product, engineering, and commercial goals.
- Architect scalable batch and streaming pipelines, real-time analytics, ML enablement, and multi-tenant access.
- Build on GCP using BigQuery, ClickHouse, Airflow, DBT, and ML Ops.
- Ensure resilience during extreme traffic spikes and major events.
Data Reliability & Observability
- Implement full data observability covering freshness, anomalies, schema drift, and SLAs/SLOs.
- Treat data incidents with production-level severity.
- Deliver trusted, always-on data for real-time operations and business intelligence.
Business Intelligence & Decision Intelligence
- Lead executive dashboards, KPI frameworks, forecasting, and operational metrics.
- Enable self-service analytics with governed semantic layers.
- Partner with Product, Marketing, Commercial, and Operations on proactive insights.
Partner & Promoter Intelligence
- Design and own data-as-a-product roadmap.
- Build promoter dashboards covering live entry and capacity, forecasting, demand analysis, audience insights, market benchmarks, and queue and throughput intelligence.
- Work with Commercial on pricing, packaging, and go-to-market strategy.
AI Enablement & Predictive Intelligence
- Build data foundations for AI and ML models.
- Support recommendation systems, conversational UX, forecasting, and anomaly detection.
- Operationalise models with monitoring and retraining.
Governance, Security & Compliance
- Define policies for data access, retention, and protection.
- Ensure PDPL and GDPR compliance in partnership with CISO and DPO.
Leadership & Organisation Building
- Lead Data Engineering, Analytics, BI, and Data Operations teams.
- Define organisational structure, hiring plans, and career ladders.
- Act as a core member of the Technology Leadership Team.
Qualifications & Experience
- 15+ years in data engineering, analytics, BI, architecture, or data leadership.
- Proven experience building enterprise-grade data platforms.
- Experience commercialising external data or intelligence products.
- Deep knowledge of modern stacks including GCP, BigQuery, Snowflake, ClickHouse, streaming, and BI tools.
- Strong AI and ML Ops expertise.
- Strong understanding of PDPL and GDPR.
Skills & Competencies
- KPI and executive reporting expertise.
- Excellent executive communication and influence.
- Experience with multi-tenant data products (nice to have).
- Experience delivering market intelligence to enterprise clients (nice to have).
Additional Information
