Role Overview
Director of Technology Governance & Assurance at Majid Al Futtaim, Global Solutions UAE. This is a crucial leadership position within the MAF Technology team, responsible for implementing governance frameworks, ensuring regulatory compliance, and overseeing risk management across the group's technology function spanning multiple businesses and regions.
Role Purpose
Lead the Technology Governance and Assurance function for MAF Group Technology, establishing and enforcing governance frameworks, managing regulatory compliance, identifying and mitigating IT risks, and implementing quality assurance practices across multiple businesses and regions.
Key Responsibilities
Governance & Compliance
- Develop and enforce governance frameworks to ensure compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to monitor adherence to technology policies.
- Implement QA practices to uphold quality standards across technology initiatives.
Risk Management
- Identify and mitigate IT risks through structured risk management practices.
- Evaluate and manage vendor performance to ensure contracts align with organizational expectations.
Portfolio & Financial Management
- Establish demand management, portfolio management, and vendor management frameworks for MAF Tech.
- Ensure structured financial control processes and frameworks are followed across the technology function.
- Forecast financial requirements for technology initiatives and monitor budget utilization.
Leadership & Change Management
- Lead different competencies and teams effectively across the technology organization.
- Lead change management efforts to support the smooth transition of new initiatives.
- Manage complex cross-functional projects and teams.
Qualifications & Experience
- 10–15 years of experience in PMO, governance, risk management, or audit roles within Group technology.
- Master's or bachelor's degree in business, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, system analysis, or a related field of study, or equivalent experience.
- Certified in Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT).
- CISA, CISM, or equivalent certifications in risk and compliance.
- Certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
- ITIL certification.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing complex cross-functional projects and teams.
