Role Overview
Directional Driller at Ali & Sons Holding LLC (ASOS Upstream), based in Abu Dhabi. Join the team to plan, execute, and optimize directional drilling operations delivering safe, efficient, and accurate well trajectories.
Role Purpose
To plan and execute directional drilling operations that achieve targeted well trajectories while maintaining HSE/QHSE standards, operating drilling equipment safely and efficiently in remote, high-pressure environments, and collaborating with engineering teams to optimize well performance and reduce operational costs.
Key Responsibilities
Drilling Operations
- Plan and execute directional drilling operations to achieve targeted well trajectories.
- Operate and monitor directional drilling equipment and adjust parameters as required.
- Monitor drilling data and maintain accurate operational records.
Technical Problem-Solving
- Troubleshoot drilling equipment and operational challenges.
Collaboration & Optimization
- Collaborate with drilling engineers and teams to optimize well performance and reduce costs.
Health, Safety & Continuous Improvement
- Follow all HSE/QHSE standards and participate in continuous improvement activities.
- Work effectively in remote locations and high-pressure environments.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5–10 years of experience in drilling operations.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology, Earth Sciences, or related field.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of drilling operations, BHA, drill strings, drilling fluids, and pressure control.
- Knowledge of drilling and well design software, including wellbore positioning and anti-collision tools.
- Fluent English required; Arabic is an advantage.
- Problem-solving, teamwork, adaptability, and communication skills.
- Strong QHSE awareness.
