Despatcher

Role Overview

Despatcher at Emarat (Emirates General Petroleum), working at the main compressor station.

Role Purpose

Maintain operating activities at the main compressor station on assigned shift through start-up, shutdown and routine operation of equipment. Perform patrol duties at predetermined intervals to check operating condition of equipment and report abnormalities. Perform mechanical and operational isolation, issue permits for all maintenance activities, and ensure site maintenance work is carried out safely.

Key Responsibilities

Operations

• Carry out regular patrols of the compressor station to observe operation of equipment including Gas turbines, Compressors, Generators, Chillers, Fin fan coolers, Filters and Separators, and report to Senior Despatcher.
• Carry out electrical and mechanical isolation of equipment in preparation of permit to work.
• Carry out Gas tests for hot work and vessel entry and sign work request for approval of supervisor prior to commencement of work.
• Monitor maintenance work to ensure it is carried out safely and in accordance with work permit conditions.
• Take immediate corrective action in the event of an emergency and notify Senior Despatcher immediately by radio of any urgent situation.

• Ensure incident-free environment through maintaining a strong safety culture.
• Monitor the progress of safe work processes as per operating procedures to ensure safety operation and plant integrity.
• Ensure compliance to health, safety and environmental excellence procedures and controls for activities under assigned section for employee safety.
• Act as a rescue member during emergencies.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma Degree (3 Year).
• Minimum 2 years' experience within Natural Gas Control Room operations.
• Knowledge of Control Room in Natural Gas Operations.

• Excellent communication.
• IT literate.
