Role Overview
Design Manager - Master Planning at Egis Group in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This strategic leadership role oversees the comprehensive planning and design of large-scale master planning projects, guiding multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative, sustainable, and commercially viable urban development solutions.

Role Purpose
You will translate client vision into detailed master plans while ensuring alignment with local regulations, market demands, and organizational standards. You are responsible for overseeing the conceptualization, development, and execution of master planning projects from inception through completion, supported by multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning
- Lead the conceptualization, development, and execution of master planning projects from inception through completion
- Conduct detailed site analysis and feasibility studies to inform strategic planning recommendations
- Develop comprehensive master plans utilizing industry-standard design software and modeling tools
- Analyze market trends, demographic data, and economic factors to inform design strategies and recommendations
- Ensure all designs meet sustainability standards and incorporate best practices in urban design and environmental planning
Stakeholder & Client Management
- Coordinate with stakeholders, clients, and municipal authorities to ensure project alignment with regulatory requirements and local development guidelines
- Prepare and present detailed design proposals, visualizations, and reports to clients and internal leadership
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder and client relationships
Team Leadership
- Manage and mentor a team of designers, planners, and technical specialists, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment
- Demonstrate expertise in leading design-focused projects with multidisciplinary teams
Quality & Delivery
- Review and quality-assure all design deliverables to maintain organizational standards and client expectations
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation to ensure efficient project delivery
Professional Development
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and evolving best practices in master planning and urban design
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 15 years of professional experience in master planning, urban design, or large-scale development projects
- Proven expertise in developing comprehensive master plans for mixed-use, residential, commercial, or mixed-development projects
- Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary teams and leading design-focused projects
- Project management experience including budget oversight, scheduling, and resource management
- Familiarity with the Middle Eastern market and development context is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, and local planning standards, with familiarity of Saudi Arabian regulations preferred
Skills & Competencies
- Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, GIS, and 3D modeling tools
- Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and advanced visualization techniques
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable design strategies
- Strong presentation and communication skills with the ability to articulate design concepts to diverse audiences
- Knowledge of sustainable design principles and green building standards
- Proficiency in stakeholder management and client relationship building
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
