Role Overview
Design Manager - Architecture at WSP Middle East, supporting the design and development of large-scale projects across a diverse portfolio that includes residential communities, mixed-use developments, retail destinations, commercial assets, and hospitality projects.

Role Purpose
Oversee the architectural design development process within a multidisciplinary project environment, coordinate with consultants and stakeholders, and ensure the successful delivery of high-quality, coordinated, and commercially viable design solutions aligned with project objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Design Management
- Manage architectural design consultants throughout all stages of project development.
- Review and coordinate concept, schematic, detailed design, and tender documentation.
- Ensure design proposals meet project brief, quality, functionality, operational, and commercial requirements.
Stakeholder & Team Coordination
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including structural, MEP, landscape, interior design, and infrastructure disciplines.
- Participate in design workshops, stakeholder reviews, and technical meetings.
- Assist in obtaining approvals from relevant authorities and stakeholders.
Programme & Risk Management
- Monitor design programmes, deliverables, and key milestones.
- Identify design risks and support the implementation of mitigation measures.
Value & Reporting
- Support value engineering and optimization initiatives.
- Prepare design reports, presentations, and project updates for senior management.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Architecture.
- 15+ years of experience in design management, architecture, or project delivery.
- Experience on major residential, mixed-use, commercial, hospitality, or retail developments.
- Strong understanding of design coordination and consultant management.
- Previous experience within a developer, PMC, or multidisciplinary consultancy environment is preferred.
