Role Overview
Design Coordinator (Saudi National Only) at Decima International, located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is an onsite position supporting multidisciplinary design activities for major data center projects.

Role Purpose
Support the Design Manager in coordinating technical information, tracking design deliverables, and maintaining effective communication between consultants, contractors, and engineering disciplines to ensure design information is accurate, coordinated, properly tracked, and available to support construction, commissioning, and handover activities.
Key Responsibilities
Design Coordination & Tracking
- Support the Design Manager in coordinating multidisciplinary design activities.
- Coordinate design information across CSA, MEP, ICT, Security, and other technical disciplines.
- Track design deliverables, outstanding actions, and submission status.
- Maintain design registers, trackers, and action logs.
- Track RFIs, technical submittals, drawings, design comments, and clarifications.
- Assist with monitoring design progress against project schedules.
Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain accurate records of approvals, revisions, design changes, and technical decisions.
- Coordinate design documentation required for construction activities.
- Assist with commissioning and handover documentation as required.
Quality & Conflict Resolution
- Support drawing and design-package reviews for completeness and coordination.
- Assist with BIM coordination and clash detection and resolution activities.
- Identify design coordination issues, gaps, and conflicts and escalate them to the Design Manager.
Stakeholder Communication & Follow-up
- Follow up with consultants, contractors, and project teams on overdue submissions and responses.
- Support multidisciplinary design coordination meetings.
- Prepare meeting minutes and monitor closure of action items.
- Support communication between engineering disciplines, consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders.
Reporting & Presentations
- Support preparation of design progress reports and client presentations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Experience in design coordination, engineering coordination, or a similar project role.
- Strong ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation.
- Experience tracking RFIs, technical submittals, drawings, and design clarifications.
- Experience maintaining design registers, trackers, and document logs.
- Strong understanding of multidisciplinary coordination across CSA, MEP, ICT, and other engineering disciplines.
- Experience on data center or mission-critical projects (preferred).
- Experience within a PMC or engineering consultancy environment (preferred).
- Experience working on large-scale construction, infrastructure, MEP, commercial, or industrial projects (preferred).
- Understanding of Saudi construction requirements and local project practices (preferred).
- Experience supporting design through construction, commissioning, and handover phases (preferred).
Skills & Competencies
- Strong organizational skills and ability to follow up on multiple actions simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
- Good communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of Revit and Navisworks.
- Familiarity with Procore (preferred).
- Familiarity with Bluebeam (preferred).
- BIM coordination experience (preferred).
- Experience working with multidisciplinary engineering teams (preferred).
