Role Overview
Dermatology Consultant at Nahdi Care Clinics (NCC), providing specialist-level dermatological care in an outpatient clinic setting.
Role Purpose
Diagnose and treat dermatological injuries and illnesses through patient examination, medical history-taking, diagnostic testing, and medication prescription. Provide clinical leadership, second opinions to junior physicians, and strategic recommendations to support service improvement and staff development.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care & Clinical Assessment
- Examine patients and take comprehensive medical histories.
- Assess patients and document findings in medical records.
- Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests.
- Design and execute individualized patient care plans.
- Prescribe medications for patients.
- Fulfill obligations related to patient records management.
Patient Education & Counseling
- Educate patients on their health condition, investigations required, and treatment options.
- Counsel patients on medication use.
- Counsel patients on diet, hygiene, and preventive healthcare as related to their individual cases.
- Educate patients on health promotion and disease prevention.
- Integrate population factors of heritage, environment, and disease prevalence into patient care.
Clinical Leadership & Knowledge Sharing
- Provide second opinions to specialist and senior specialist physicians.
- Provide coaching and knowledge sharing to junior staff to ensure adherence to guidelines and best practices.
- Support the Medical Director in performance management of specialists and senior specialists by providing objective performance evaluation.
- Participate in continuous professional development of all junior staff.
Governance & Compliance
- Adhere to all NCC Policies and Procedures, Bylaws, Strategic Plan, Rules and Regulations.
- Adhere to NCC mission, vision, goals, and practice guidelines.
- Adhere to CBAHI standards of care.
- Comply with clinical and departmental structure standards, including attendance requirements.
- Complete fire safety requirements.
- Perform clinical privileges based on training, experience, skills, and Saudi Health Council guidelines.
Quality Improvement & Professional Development
- Participate in continuous quality improvement and program evaluation activities.
- Observe measures to ensure Clinical, MOH, and CBAHI quality standards and regulations are met.
- Develop, participate in, and support an active Continuing Medical Education program for the section or department, which may include rounds, conferences, lectures, journal clubs, and other educational activities.
- Maintain evidence-based practice orientation.
Stakeholder Management & Organizational Support
- Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with other NCC departments, local agencies, vendors, patients, families, and other interested parties.
- Actively participate in all NCC Committees and Task Forces to which assigned.
- Support top management with recommendations and ideas for improving services and staff development in the short or long term.
- Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as assigned by management based on business need.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in medicine and surgery from a recognized university.
- Master's degree in a related dermatology specialty from a recognized university.
- Fellowship or Board certification, or Medical Doctor (MD) qualification.
- 5 years of clinical experience following MD in dermatology, OR 3 years of clinical experience following Fellowship in dermatology.
- Licensed as a Consultant in dermatology from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS).
Skills & Competencies
- Office and Health Information Systems proficiency.
- English and Arabic: fluent speaking and writing.
Additional Information
- Work Environment: 100% indoors, 0% outdoors.
- Working Schedule: 6 working days per week with 1 day off.
- Working Hours: 8 net working hours according to shift schedule approved by head of department.
