Role Overview

Demi Chef de Partie at Holiday Inn and Suites Dubai Science Park, operated by IHG Hotels and Resorts, located in Dubai.

Role Purpose

To prepare, cook, and present high-quality dishes within an assigned kitchen section while supporting the Chef de Partie and maintaining exceptional culinary standards that create memorable dining experiences for guests.

Key Responsibilities

Food Preparation & Cooking

• Prepare, cook, and present high-quality dishes within your assigned kitchen section.
• Ensure all food preparation and cooking complies with brand standards and local food safety and hygiene regulations.

Section Operations

• Support the Chef de Partie in the daily operation of your section.
• Ensure consistency in food quality and presentation.
• Take ownership of your workstation—maintaining stock levels, ensuring proper food storage, and minimizing waste.

Team Support & Training

• Assist with the training and guidance of Commis Chefs and junior team members where required.
• Support the wider kitchen team whenever needed.

Workplace Standards

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
• Take on other ad-hoc duties as a true team player.

Qualifications & Experience

• Previous experience as a Commis Chef or Demi Chef de Partie in a hotel, restaurant, or similar kitchen environment.
• A good grasp of reading, writing, and basic maths.
• Compliance with local laws on food handling and serving alcohol; must be above the minimum age required.
• Fluency in the local language.

Skills & Competencies

• Passion for food, creativity, and delivering exceptional guest experiences through quality cuisine.
• The strength to lift, push, and pull objects up to 50 lbs (23 kg), which can also involve bending and kneeling.
• Warm, welcoming, and easy to talk to.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Great communication skills.
