Dean – School of Engineering & Computing at American International University Kuwait, Kuwait.

Role Purpose

Lead the School of Engineering & Computing through strategic vision, academic excellence, and operational management. Foster innovation in engineering and computing disciplines while building a world-class institution that prepares students for global careers and contributes to Kuwait's technical workforce development.

Key Responsibilities

Academic Leadership

• Provide vision and direction for the School of Engineering & Computing.
• Develop and implement strategic plans aligned with university mission and accreditation standards.
• Oversee curriculum development and continuous improvement across all engineering and computing programs.
• Ensure academic quality and rigor in all degree offerings.

Faculty & Staff Management

• Recruit, hire, and retain high-quality faculty and academic staff.
• Evaluate faculty performance and support professional development.
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive academic environment.

Program Accreditation & Quality Assurance

• Maintain and pursue professional accreditation for engineering and computing programs.
• Ensure compliance with accreditation bodies and quality standards.
• Monitor program outcomes and student learning objectives.

Budget & Resources

• Manage the School's budget and financial resources effectively.
• Allocate resources to support teaching, research, and infrastructure needs.
• Identify and pursue funding opportunities and grants.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Build and maintain relationships with industry partners, employers, and professional organizations.
• Facilitate partnerships that enhance student internships, placements, and career opportunities.
• Engage with alumni networks and external advisory boards.
• Liaise with university leadership and other academic schools.

Research & Innovation

• Promote research and scholarly activities among faculty and students.
• Support innovation initiatives and industry-relevant projects.
• Enhance the School's reputation through research output and publications.

Student Success

• Support student recruitment, retention, and academic success initiatives.
• Champion diversity and inclusion within student and faculty populations.
• Foster student engagement through clubs, competitions, and professional societies.

Qualifications & Experience

• Doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent) in Engineering, Computing, or a related discipline.
• Significant experience in academic administration, preferably at the level of Associate Dean or Department Chair.
• Track record of successful program development and accreditation management.
• Experience working in higher education environments, particularly in engineering or computing disciplines.
• Familiarity with Middle Eastern educational contexts is desirable.
