Role Purpose
Lead analytical projects that integrate AI, machine learning, geospatial analysis, and economic modelling to drive evidence-based decision-making. Manage end-to-end data workflows from ideation to delivery, working with a multidisciplinary team of data scientists, economists, and policy experts to build tools with real impact.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Strategy
- Lead data-driven projects across public policy and economic domains.
Data Engineering & Analytics
- Design, automate, and optimize data pipelines and analytical workflows.
- Apply AI, ML, and geospatial techniques to extract insights from satellite imagery, trade, and macroeconomic data.
- Develop and maintain interactive dashboards, ranking systems, and predictive models.
- Build data pipelines and ETL processes.
Stakeholder Communication
- Translate technical results into clear, actionable policy recommendations.
Team & Knowledge Management
- Mentor junior data scientists and oversee code quality, documentation, and best practices.
Qualifications & Experience
- Master's degree in Computer Science or Data Science.
- 5+ years of experience with Python.
- 5+ years of experience with SQL.
- 5+ years of experience with APIs.
- Proven experience leading data projects or small teams.
- Experience with machine learning or predictive modelling.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent English communication skills.
- Geospatial data analysis (GIS, satellite imagery, GeoPandas, QGIS).
- Economic or policy-related datasets.
- Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- TensorFlow or PyTorch.
