Role Overview
Data Governance Specialist at Capco, located in Doha. This is a permanent position within the Data & Analytics practice area.
Role Purpose
Support clients in establishing and strengthening effective data governance across their organisations by working with business, data, technology, risk, and regulatory stakeholders to define governance frameworks, improve data quality and accountability, and ensure consistent data management throughout its lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Framework & Policy Design
- Design and implement data governance frameworks, policies, standards, and operating models aligned to business and regulatory requirements.
- Establish clear data ownership, stewardship, accountability, and governance processes across business and technology teams.
Data Quality & Standards
- Support data quality initiatives, including defining critical data elements, quality rules, controls, monitoring, and remediation processes.
- Work with stakeholders to strengthen metadata management, data lineage, data classification, and data lifecycle practices.
Stakeholder Engagement & Adoption
- Translate governance requirements into practical solutions while supporting adoption, stakeholder engagement, and sustainable change.
Qualifications & Experience
- Strong experience in data governance, data management, data quality, metadata, lineage, or related disciplines.
- Practical knowledge of data governance frameworks, policies, standards, controls, and operating models.
- Experience working with business, technology, risk, compliance, and data stakeholders to deliver governance initiatives.
- Strong understanding of data ownership, stewardship, data quality management, metadata, lineage, and regulatory expectations.
- Experience delivering data governance initiatives within banking, financial services, or another regulated environment is a plus.
- Exposure to large-scale data transformation, regulatory, or enterprise data programmes is a plus.
Skills & Competencies
- Clear communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex data requirements into practical outcomes.
- Knowledge of recognised data management frameworks and industry good practice.
- Experience with data governance, catalogue, metadata, lineage, or data quality platforms is a plus.
- Experience supporting governance adoption, training, or organisational change is a plus.
