Role Purpose

Monitor, detect, and respond to cyber security threats and incidents affecting the university's IT infrastructure and data systems.

Key Responsibilities

Security Monitoring & Incident Response

• Monitor security systems and network traffic for suspicious activity and potential breaches.
• Respond promptly to security incidents and alerts.
• Investigate security breaches and vulnerabilities.
• Implement corrective actions to address identified threats.

Security Infrastructure & Systems

• Maintain and manage firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other security tools.
• Configure and update security systems and protocols.
• Ensure compliance with security policies and standards.

Analysis & Reporting

• Analyze security logs and generate incident reports.
• Document findings and recommendations from security assessments.
• Report security incidents to management and relevant stakeholders.

Threat Assessment & Prevention

• Identify potential security risks and vulnerabilities in systems.
• Develop and recommend security improvements and best practices.
• Assist in conducting security audits and assessments.
