Role Overview
Cultural Advisor – Site Lead, V2X. This position is contingent upon contract award and requires full-time deployment. The Cultural Advisor supports the 380 AEW by providing expert cultural guidance, Host Nation engagement support, and Arabic–English linguistic services.

Role Purpose
The Cultural Advisor strengthens cooperation between U.S. and Host Nation personnel and enables mission success across USAFCENT operations. This role works closely with U.S. military leadership to support activities related to military operations, personnel, security, medical coordination, Host Nation governmental processes, and base defense matters.
Key Responsibilities
Cultural Guidance & Liaison
- Advise U.S. military leaders on Host Nation culture, customs, sensitivities, and partnership expectations.
- Deliver cultural context to briefings, operational discussions, and official engagements.
- Serve as an official liaison during engagements with Host Nation ministries, agencies, and military entities.
- Facilitate positive relationships between U.S. personnel and Host Nation military, government, and civilian organizations.
Translation & Interpretation
- Provide precise and professional translation, interpretation, and transcription in Modern Standard Arabic and English.
- Perform interpretation duties that include cultural and linguistic context beyond direct translation.
Operations & Security Support
- Assist with matters involving deployed personnel, security of resources, medical care coordination, and base access.
- Support administrative requirements for 380 AEW and tenant units as directed.
- Maintain strict compliance with Host Nation laws, USAFCENT guidance, and U.S. security standards.
General Duties
- Perform other related duties as assigned within the general scope of the contract.
Qualifications & Experience
Required Clearance & Documentation
- Active SECRET clearance; must be maintained throughout employment.
- U.S. citizenship.
- Valid U.S. driver's license and U.S. passport.
- International driver's license.
- Ability to obtain required country visas and local driver's licenses.
Language Proficiency
- ILR 3+ proficiency (or equivalent) in Modern Standard Arabic and English; DLPT score acceptable.
Background & Screening Requirements
- Must meet all screening and background conditions, including no pending criminal charges or felony arrests.
- No alcohol-related arrests within the last five years.
- No history of moral turpitude, violence, hate-crime involvement, or association with groups promoting extra-legal violence.
- No past actions posing a security concern.
- No Host Nation restrictions on base or country access.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum one year of supervisory experience in an office or operational setting.
- Minimum two years cumulative experience in any of the following: providing cross-cultural training or briefings in a military or operational context; advising military operations on cultural considerations; serving as a liaison or mediator between U.S. Government/DoD and foreign military or government entities; or performing interpretation duties that include cultural and linguistic context beyond direct translation.
Additional Information
Working Conditions
- Must be capable of working in extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions including hot, dry, dusty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in winter and 130 degrees in summer months.
- Includes some industrial production environment conditions.
Physical Requirements
- Light work, exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential exists for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.
- Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
- Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
