Role Overview
Cultural Advisor (CA) at V2X, supporting the 380 Airborne Early Warning squadron. This position is contingent upon contract award and requires full-time deployment. The role is based in a Host Nation location within USAFCENT operations.

Role Purpose
The Cultural Advisor provides expert cultural guidance, Host Nation engagement support, and Arabic–English linguistic services to strengthen cooperation between U.S. and Host Nation personnel and enable mission success across USAFCENT operations. The role works closely with U.S. military leadership on matters related to military operations, personnel, security, medical coordination, Host Nation governmental processes, and base defense.
Key Responsibilities
Cultural Guidance & Advisory
- Advise U.S. military leaders on Host Nation culture, customs, sensitivities, and partnership expectations.
- Deliver cultural context to briefings, operational discussions, and official engagements.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Facilitate positive relationships between U.S. personnel and Host Nation military, government, and civilian organizations.
- Serve as an official liaison during engagements with Host Nation ministries, agencies, and military entities.
Linguistic Services
- Provide precise and professional translation, interpretation, and transcription in Modern Standard Arabic and English.
Operations & Support
- Support administrative requirements for 380 AEW and tenant units as directed.
- Assist with matters involving deployed personnel, security of resources, medical care coordination, and base access.
- Maintain strict compliance with Host Nation laws, USAFCENT guidance, and U.S. security standards.
- Perform other related duties as assigned within the general scope of the contract.
Qualifications & Experience
- Active SECRET clearance, which must be maintained throughout employment.
- U.S. citizenship.
- Valid U.S. driver's license and U.S. passport.
- Ability to obtain required country visas and local driver's licenses.
- International driver's license.
- ILR 3+ proficiency (or equivalent) in Modern Standard Arabic and English; DLPT score acceptable.
- No pending criminal charges or felony arrests.
- No alcohol-related arrests within the last five years.
- No history of moral turpitude, violence, hate-crime involvement, or association with groups promoting extra-legal violence.
- No past actions posing a security concern.
- No Host Nation restrictions on base or country access.
Skills & Competencies
- Modern Standard Arabic and English language proficiency at ILR 3+ level.
- Professional translation and interpretation capabilities.
- Transcription skills.
- Cultural awareness and diplomatic engagement.
- Knowledge of Host Nation customs and governmental processes.
Additional Information
Working Conditions
- Must be capable of working in extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions, including hot, dry, dusty desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees Fahrenheit in winter and 130 degrees Fahrenheit in summer months.
- Includes some industrial production environment conditions.
Physical Requirements
- Light work, exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.
- Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
- Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
