CPT TECHNICIAN

Role Overview

CPT Technician at NMDC Group. The role involves conducting Cone Penetration Testing (CPT) probing operations on land-based and nearshore projects.

Role Purpose

To maintain a high quality, safe and effective CPT probing service to clients while ensuring compliance with company standards, health and safety regulations, and project deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

CPT Operations

• Perform land-based and nearshore CPT probing operations.
• Acquire CPT data during test execution.
• Apply knowledge of suitable CPT investigative techniques to ensure successful deliverables as stated on project scope of work.

Stakeholder Liaison & Communication

• Liaise with geologists, engineers, consultants and all other stakeholders involved in the geotechnical investigation and project.
• Ensure that concerns over the quality of the CPT operation and relevant operational matters are effectively communicated to senior personnel.
• Interact between CPT and drilling operations.

Crew Leadership & Training

• Provide leadership and promote teamwork amongst crewmembers.
• Provide training and guidance on company standards, procedures and CPT techniques to crewmembers.
• Ensure that field crews are suitably trained and equipped to perform the task required of them by providing regular training on technical areas and general procedural matters.

Compliance & Safety

• Work in compliance with HSE regulations.
• Ensure adherence to company's Policies, Operational Procedures, Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental & Quality Standards.
• Use any equipment, protective devices or clothing required by the employer.
• Report any known missing or defective equipment or protective device that may be dangerous to the employer or supervisor.
• Report any known workplace hazard or violation of the Act to the employer or supervisor.
• Not remove or make ineffective any protective device required by the employer or by the regulations.

Asset Management & Maintenance

• Manage and maintain Assets on site including CPT plant, support vehicles, miscellaneous tools and parts.
• Perform thorough maintenance of equipment.

Documentation & Reporting

• Thoroughly investigate and document all incidences and accidents on site per Drilling's procedure.
• Comply with company reporting requirements, ensuring details are accurate, activities properly documented and all chargeable items and activities are clearly documented.

Project Execution

• Execute activities related to dredging, reclamation and civil marine projects within deadline and budget available.
• Ensure high quality, safety and environmental standards are maintained.
