Consultant Plastic Surgeon

Role Overview

Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Astra ProMed in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Full-time position.

Role Purpose

To deliver comprehensive plastic and reconstructive surgery services across aesthetic, trauma, oncologic, and congenital cases in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment. The role combines clinical surgery, patient assessment, and quality improvement within a modern facility.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Assessment & Consultation

• Conduct comprehensive consultations, assessments, and surgical planning for plastic and reconstructive surgery patients.
• Evaluate patients for cosmetic procedures and provide appropriate counselling regarding risks, benefits, and expected outcomes.
• Provide pre-operative assessment, informed consent, and comprehensive post-operative follow-up.

Surgical Delivery

• Perform a wide range of reconstructive and aesthetic surgical procedures within the scope of expertise.
• Manage patients requiring reconstruction following trauma, cancer surgery, burns, congenital conditions, or other tissue defects.
• Perform facial and body contouring procedures where appropriately trained.
• Manage complex wounds, soft-tissue defects, and post-surgical complications.
• Perform breast reconstruction and other reconstructive procedures as applicable to clinical expertise.

Outcomes & Safety Management

• Monitor surgical outcomes and manage post-operative complications.
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with clinical governance and patient-safety standards.

Multidisciplinary Collaboration

• Work closely with oncologists, breast surgeons, orthopedic surgeons, maxillofacial surgeons, dermatologists, and other multidisciplinary specialists.

Professional Development & Quality

• Participate in quality improvement, clinical audits, teaching, research, and CME activities.

Qualifications & Experience

• MBBS/MD or equivalent medical degree.
• Recognized postgraduate qualification in Plastic Surgery or Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery.
• Board certification or equivalent recognized specialist/consultant qualification.
• Minimum 5–10 years of post-specialization experience in Plastic Surgery.
• Strong experience in reconstructive and/or aesthetic plastic surgery.
• Fellowship or advanced training in Plastic, Reconstructive, Aesthetic, or Microsurgery is an advantage.
• Experience with complex reconstruction, microsurgery, trauma, burns, or breast reconstruction is highly desirable.
• Eligible for DHA Consultant classification/license in Dubai.
