Role Overview

Consultant Physician-Orthopedics at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC), providing primary care for patients with injuries, illnesses, and disorders.

Role Purpose

To deliver compassionate, evidence-based patient care by diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal injuries and conditions, prescribing appropriate medications and therapies, and coordinating multidisciplinary care to optimize patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care & Clinical Assessment

• Examine patients and take comprehensive medical histories.
• Address patients' concerns and answer their questions.
• Diagnose and treat injuries, illnesses, and disorders.
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests and explain results to patients.
• Explain medical procedures to patients.

Treatment Planning & Prescription

• Recommend and design treatment plans.
• Prescribe medications or therapies.
• Counsel patients on diet, hygiene, preventative healthcare, and lifestyle changes.

Documentation & Records

• Update patients' charts and information to reflect current findings and treatments.

Collaboration & Referral

• Consult with other physicians and healthcare staff, including nurses and assistants.
• Refer patients to specialists when necessary.
• Work collaboratively with other healthcare team members.

Compliance & Professional Standards

• Comply with medical laws, including HIPAA.
• Stay up to date on advancements, innovations, and developments in the field.

Qualifications & Experience

• Medical degree and successful completion of a residency and internship.
• State license and certification to practice medicine.
• Knowledge and experience in diagnosing and treating a wide variety of illnesses.
