Role Overview

Consultant Physician-Oral & Maxillofacial (OMF) at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC). This role provides primary care to patients with injuries and common illnesses, with potential specialization in areas including anesthesiology, family and general medicine, internal medicine, and pediatrics.

Role Purpose

To deliver compassionate, evidence-based clinical care to patients presenting with injuries and illnesses, maintaining current medical knowledge and collaborating effectively across the healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Assessment & Diagnosis

• Examine patients and take comprehensive medical histories.
• Address patients' concerns and answer questions.
• Diagnose and treat injuries, illnesses, and disorders.
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests.
• Explain test results to patients.

Treatment & Management

• Recommend and design treatment plans.
• Prescribe medications or therapies.
• Counsel patients on diet, hygiene, preventative healthcare, and lifestyle changes.
• Explain medical procedures to patients.

Documentation & Compliance

• Update patients' charts and information to reflect current findings and treatments.
• Comply with medical laws, including HIPAA.

Collaboration & Referral

• Consult with other physicians.
• Refer patients to specialists when necessary.
• Work collaboratively with nurses, assistants, and other physicians.

Qualifications & Experience

• Medical degree and successful completion of residency and internship.
• State license and certification to practice medicine.
• Knowledge and experience in diagnosing and treating a wide variety of illnesses.
