Role Overview

Consultant Physician-Oral & Maxillofacial (OMF) at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC).

Role Purpose

Provide compassionate primary and specialized care to patients suffering from injuries, illnesses, and disorders. Diagnose and treat conditions, prescribe medications, recommend lifestyle changes, and answer patient questions with kindness and clinical excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Assessment & Diagnosis

• Examine patients and take comprehensive medical histories.
• Address patient concerns and answer questions thoroughly.
• Diagnose injuries, illnesses, and disorders.
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests.
• Explain diagnostic results to patients.

Treatment & Care Planning

• Design and recommend treatment plans.
• Prescribe medications or therapies.
• Treat injuries, illnesses, and disorders according to clinical protocols.
• Counsel patients on diet, hygiene, preventative healthcare, and lifestyle modifications.
• Explain medical procedures to patients.

Documentation & Compliance

• Update patient charts and records to reflect current findings and treatments.
• Comply with medical laws, including HIPAA requirements.

Collaboration & Referral

• Consult with other physicians on complex cases.
• Refer patients to specialists when necessary.
• Work collaboratively with nurses, assistants, and other healthcare staff.

Qualifications & Experience

• Medical degree and successful completion of a residency and internship.
• State license and certification to practice medicine.
• Knowledge and experience in diagnosing and treating a wide variety of illnesses.
