Consultant Pediatric Gastroenterologist

Role Overview

Consultant Pediatric Gastroenterologist position with SEHA, providing specialized pediatric gastroenterological care to patients.

Role Purpose

Deliver compassionate, evidence-based pediatric gastroenterological care by diagnosing and treating gastrointestinal injuries, illnesses, and disorders in pediatric patients, and coordinating care with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Assessment and Care

• Examine patients and take medical histories.
• Address patient concerns and answer patient questions.
• Diagnose and treat injuries, illnesses, and disorders.
• Counsel patients on diet, hygiene, preventative healthcare, and lifestyle changes.
• Explain medical procedures to patients.

Diagnostics and Treatment Planning

• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests.
• Explain diagnostic results to patients.
• Recommend and design treatment plans.
• Prescribe medications or therapies.

Documentation and Compliance

• Update patient charts and information to reflect current findings and treatments.
• Comply with medical laws, including HIPAA.

Collaboration and Consultation

• Consult with other physicians and refer patients to specialists when necessary.
• Work with other healthcare staff, including nurses, assistants, and other physicians.

Qualifications & Experience

• Medical degree and successful completion of residency and internship.
• State license and certification to practice medicine.
• Knowledge and experience in diagnosing and treating a wide variety of illnesses.
