Consultant Pediatric ENT

Role Overview

Consultant Pediatric ENT at Astra ProMed, Dubai. Full-time position for an experienced physician specializing in ear, nose, throat, and airway conditions in infants, children, and adolescents.

Role Purpose

Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and surgical management of pediatric ENT conditions across the full spectrum of complexity, from routine cases to complex airway disorders, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and maintaining the highest standards of clinical governance and patient safety.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Assessment and Diagnosis

• Provide comprehensive assessment and management of pediatric ENT conditions.
• Diagnose and treat common and complex ear, nose, throat, and airway disorders in children.
• Evaluate congenital and developmental ENT conditions.
• Manage conditions including recurrent tonsillitis, adenoid hypertrophy, otitis media, hearing disorders, sinus disease, and pediatric airway conditions.
• Assess and manage pediatric hearing, speech, swallowing, and airway-related disorders in collaboration with relevant specialists.
• Manage pediatric sleep-disordered breathing and obstructive sleep apnea.

Surgical Procedures

• Perform pediatric ENT surgical procedures as appropriate to clinical expertise.
• Perform procedures such as tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy, tympanostomy tube insertion, and other pediatric ENT surgeries.
• Provide appropriate emergency management of pediatric airway and ENT conditions.

Patient and Family Communication

• Communicate effectively with children and their parents/guardians regarding diagnosis and treatment options.
• Provide pre-operative counselling and post-operative follow-up for pediatric patients.

Multidisciplinary Collaboration

• Work closely with pediatricians, audiologists, speech therapists, pulmonologists, neurologists, and other multidisciplinary teams.

Governance and Professional Development

• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with patient-safety and clinical governance standards.
• Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement, education, and CME activities.

Qualifications & Experience

• MBBS/MD or equivalent medical degree.
• Recognized postgraduate qualification in Otolaryngology / ENT.
• Fellowship or advanced training in Pediatric Otolaryngology / Pediatric ENT preferred.
• Board certification or equivalent recognized specialist/consultant qualification.
• Minimum 5–10 years of post-specialization experience, with significant pediatric ENT exposure.
• Strong experience in pediatric ENT diagnosis, surgical management, and airway care.
• Experience working with infants, children, and adolescents.
• Eligible for DHA Consultant classification/license in Dubai.
