Role Overview

Consultant of Interventional Radiology & Pain Management at Taiba Hospital, Department of IR & Pain Management.

Role Purpose

Deliver high-precision image-guided interventional procedures and pain management care to acute and chronic pain patients, maintaining benchmark-low complication rates and JCI-compliant documentation while contributing to departmental quality, safety, and service development.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Diagnosis & Treatment

• Assess and manage acute and chronic pain conditions with individualised care plans.
• Diagnose pain conditions and develop tailored treatment strategies for each patient.
• Track patient progress and refine treatment plans as clinically indicated.

Procedural Excellence

• Perform image-guided procedures, injections, and nerve blocks using real-time ultrasound and fluoroscopy.
• Execute interventions with consistent precision while maintaining benchmark-low complication rates.
• Deliver every procedure strictly within approved clinical privileges.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure all procedures meet approved privileges, safety, and infection-control protocols.
• Keep clinical records accurate, timely, and compliant with JCI and medico-legal standards.
• Monitor complication rates closely across all interventions.

Consultation & Collaboration

• Provide expert cross-specialty consultations and coordinate complex patient referrals.
• Collaborate actively across departments to support patient care.

Service & Leadership

• Actively participate in the Consultant on-call rota and provide clinical coverage when required.
• Contribute meaningfully to service development, clinical pathways, and hospital-wide committees.
• Drive departmental quality and safety initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

• MBBS/MBBCH, a Master's in the specialty, and a Doctorate, Fellowship, or Board Certification from a university recognised by Kuwait's Ministry of Higher Education.
• Minimum 9 years of post-highest-degree experience in Interventional Radiology & Pain Management.
• Proven expertise in image-guided pain procedures.
