Consultant IVF

Role Overview

Consultant IVF position with Astra ProMed, located in Dubai. Full-time employment.

Role Purpose

Provide comprehensive consultation, diagnosis, and management of male and female infertility using advanced assisted reproductive technologies and reproductive endocrinology expertise, with commitment to clinical excellence, patient-centered care, and successful fertility treatment outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Assessment & Diagnosis

• Provide comprehensive consultation, diagnosis, and management of male and female infertility.
• Evaluate and manage patients with reproductive endocrinology disorders, ovulatory dysfunction, diminished ovarian reserve, PCOS, endometriosis, and recurrent pregnancy loss.
• Conduct fertility assessments, including ovarian reserve testing, hormonal evaluation, and reproductive ultrasound.
• Interpret relevant investigations, including hormonal profiles, semen analysis, pelvic ultrasound, hysterosalpingography, and embryology reports.

Treatment Planning & Protocols

• Develop individualized fertility treatment plans based on clinical evaluation, hormonal investigations, ultrasound findings, and reproductive history.
• Manage controlled ovarian stimulation protocols, follicular monitoring, and ovulation induction.
• Manage patients undergoing intrauterine insemination (IUI) and other fertility treatments.
• Provide appropriate fertility preservation counseling and coordinate oocyte, sperm, and embryo cryopreservation services in accordance with applicable regulations.

Assisted Reproductive Technology

• Perform and supervise assisted reproductive technology (ART) procedures, including IVF and ICSI treatment cycles.
• Perform transvaginal ultrasound-guided oocyte retrieval and embryo transfer procedures where appropriately trained and authorized.
• Evaluate and manage recurrent implantation failure and complex infertility cases.

Clinical Management & Monitoring

• Monitor treatment outcomes, identify complications, and manage conditions such as ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS).
• Provide comprehensive pre-treatment counseling, informed consent, and follow-up care throughout the fertility treatment journey.
• Educate patients regarding fertility treatment options, success rates, potential risks, and reproductive health.

Collaboration & Multidisciplinary Care

• Collaborate with embryologists, andrologists, gynecologists, urologists, genetic counselors, and other multidisciplinary specialists.

Leadership & Professional Development

• Supervise and mentor junior physicians and fertility clinic team members.
• Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, research, teaching, and CME activities.

Compliance & Governance

• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with ART laboratory standards, ethical guidelines, clinical governance, and UAE reproductive healthcare regulations.

Qualifications & Experience

• MBBS/MD or equivalent medical degree.
• Recognized postgraduate qualification in Obstetrics & Gynecology.
• Fellowship or advanced subspecialty training in Reproductive Medicine, Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility (REI), or Assisted Reproductive Technology.
• Board certification or equivalent recognized consultant qualification.
• Minimum 5–10 years of relevant post-specialization experience, including substantial clinical experience in IVF and fertility management.
• Demonstrated experience managing complex infertility cases and reproductive endocrine disorders.
• Experience working in established IVF centers or specialized fertility clinics.
• Eligible for DHA Consultant classification/license in Dubai, with appropriate reproductive medicine/IVF clinical privileges, subject to regulatory assessment.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong expertise in IVF, ICSI, ovarian stimulation, follicular monitoring, oocyte retrieval, and embryo transfer.
• Excellent clinical judgment, communication, leadership, and patient-management skills.
