Role Overview
Consultant Family Medicine position with Astra ProMed in Abu Dhabi. Full-time employment.
Role Purpose
Provide comprehensive primary and continuing care to patients across different age groups, with a strong focus on preventive medicine, chronic disease management, and evidence-based family healthcare.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care
- Provide comprehensive family medicine consultations and ongoing patient care.
- Assess, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Manage patients with common chronic conditions including diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, and respiratory disorders.
- Perform appropriate clinical procedures within the scope of training and privileges.
Preventive Medicine & Patient Education
- Provide preventive healthcare, health screening, and lifestyle counselling.
- Provide health education and counselling to patients and families.
Care Coordination & Continuity
- Coordinate referrals to specialists and ensure continuity of care.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and care planning.
Documentation & Quality
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records.
- Support clinical quality, patient safety, and evidence-based practice initiatives.
Professional Development
- Participate in continuing medical education and professional development activities.
Qualifications & Experience
- Medical degree from an accredited institution.
- Recognized postgraduate qualification in Family Medicine.
- Western Board certification in Family Medicine or an equivalent recognized qualification.
- Eligibility for or a valid DOH Abu Dhabi Consultant licence.
- Relevant clinical experience appropriate for Consultant-level practice.
- Current Good Standing Certificate and verifiable professional credentials.

- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
