Consultant Breast Surgeon

Role Overview

Consultant Breast Surgeon at Astra ProMed in Abu Dhabi. Full-time position.

Role Purpose

Deliver expert diagnosis and surgical management of benign and malignant breast diseases, including breast cancer and oncoplastic procedures, within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Diagnosis and Management

• Diagnose and manage benign and malignant breast conditions.
• Evaluate patients referred for breast lumps, abnormalities, and suspected malignancies.
• Develop individualized surgical and treatment plans in collaboration with oncology, radiology, pathology, and other specialties.

Surgical Procedures

• Perform breast-conserving surgery, mastectomy, and other breast surgical procedures.
• Perform oncoplastic and reconstructive breast procedures where appropriately trained.
• Perform and/or coordinate image-guided breast biopsies and other diagnostic procedures.

Patient Care and Communication

• Provide pre-operative counselling and post-operative follow-up.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure high standards of patient safety and care.

Multidisciplinary Collaboration

• Participate in multidisciplinary breast cancer and tumor board meetings.
• Support screening, early detection, and multidisciplinary breast care services.

Professional Development

• Contribute to clinical education, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice.

Qualifications & Experience

• MBBS/MD or equivalent medical degree.
• Recognized postgraduate qualification in General Surgery.
• Fellowship or advanced training in Breast Surgery, Breast Oncology, or Oncoplastic Breast Surgery preferred.
• Board certification or equivalent recognized specialist/consultant qualification.
• Minimum 5–10 years of post-specialization experience, preferably with significant breast surgery experience.
• Strong experience in breast cancer surgery and management of benign breast diseases.
• Experience in oncoplastic breast surgery and multidisciplinary breast care highly desirable.
• Eligible for DHA Consultant classification/license in Dubai.
