Construction Manager

Role Overview

Construction Manager at Alomar Holding Company. This is a field-based role responsible for leading and overseeing the execution of multiple construction projects with focus on on-site operations, technical quality, subcontractor management, and engineering team leadership.

Role Purpose

Lead and oversee the execution of multiple construction projects, managing site engineering teams and ensuring all subcontractors execute works in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, contracts, quality standards, and project schedules. This is a highly technical, hands-on construction role requiring the ability to identify execution issues, coordinate different trades, resolve technical problems, and drive projects toward successful completion.

Key Responsibilities

Site Operations & Supervision

• Manage site engineering teams and site supervisors.
• Supervise subcontractors across all disciplines.
• Conduct regular site inspections.
• Monitor construction progress against approved schedules.
• Control sequencing between trades.
• Identify and resolve site conflicts.

Quality & Technical Coordination

• Ensure all subcontractors execute works in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, contracts, quality standards, and project schedules.
• Review workmanship quality.
• Identify construction defects and technical issues before works are concealed or handed over.
• Coordinate civil, architectural, finishing and MEP works.
• Ensure that works are properly completed before inspection and handover.

Subcontractor Management

• Manage multiple subcontractors across different construction disciplines.
• Monitor subcontractor performance.
• Review subcontractor progress and completed works prior to payment certification.

Planning & Risk Management

• Monitor material requirements.
• Identify delays and risks.
• Implement recovery actions when required.
• Maintain strong knowledge of project schedules, progress monitoring and recovery planning.

Reporting & Communication

• Lead site coordination meetings.
• Provide management with clear progress updates and recommendations.
• Demonstrate strong communication, leadership and coordination skills.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant construction experience, preferably with a main contractor or general contracting company.
• Proven experience managing multiple subcontractors across different construction disciplines.
• Strong experience in building and residential construction projects.
• Proven ability to manage and lead engineers, site supervisors and subcontractors.
• Experience reviewing subcontractor progress and completed works prior to payment certification.
• Previous experience in Saudi Arabia or the GCC is preferred.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong technical knowledge of civil, architectural, finishing and MEP coordination works.
• Excellent understanding of construction sequencing, site execution methods, drawings, specifications and quality standards.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills on site.
• Strong communication, leadership and coordination skills.
• Ability to identify construction defects and technical issues before works are concealed or handed over.
• Arabic and English communication skills are preferred.

Additional Information

• This is a field-based role requiring a professional comfortable working primarily on construction sites rather than in an office-based role.
• Preferred candidate profile: a hands-on construction professional with strong technical capability and equally strong leadership skills, preferably someone who has worked for a Main Contractor or General Contractor and has directly managed engineers and multiple specialized subcontractors.
