Construction Manager

Role Overview

Nova Construction is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects in Abu Dhabi. The role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety while managing site teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders.

Role Purpose

The Construction Manager leads the full construction lifecycle from mobilization to handover, ensuring projects meet contractual obligations, quality standards, and safety requirements while effectively coordinating internal teams, external contractors, clients, and consultants.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Execution

• Oversee the full construction lifecycle from mobilization to handover.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocations.
• Ensure project milestones are achieved in line with contractual obligations.
• Manage day-to-day construction activities and ensure smooth site operations.

Progress Monitoring & Control

• Monitor progress, productivity, and quality of work against project schedules.
• Identify risks and implement corrective actions promptly.
• Monitor project costs and contribute to budget control measures.

Stakeholder & Client Management

• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and contractors on site.
• Communicate progress and key issues to senior management and stakeholders.
• Support resolution of contractual and commercial matters.

Coordination & Alignment

• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, QA/QC, and HSE teams to ensure alignment.
• Review subcontractor performance and certify works for payment.

Quality Assurance

• Ensure construction works comply with approved drawings, specifications, and Abu Dhabi building codes.
• Collaborate with QA/QC teams to uphold high-quality standards across all activities.
• Support audits, inspections, and authority approvals as required.

Health, Safety & Environment

• Enforce strict adherence to HSE policies and regulations on site.
• Promote a proactive safety culture across all teams and subcontractors.
• Ensure risk assessments and method statements are followed effectively.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• 15–20 years of progressive experience in construction project execution.
• Minimum 5+ years in a managerial role overseeing large-scale projects.
• Proven track record of delivering projects in the UAE.
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, site management, and project planning.
• Experience in UAE construction regulations and local authority requirements.
• Master's degree or PMP certification is a plus.

Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
• Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
