Concrete Structure Design Manager

Role Overview

Rawafid seeks an experienced Concrete Structure Design Manager to lead and support structural engineering activities for water, wastewater, and industrial projects. The role is responsible for developing detailed structural designs, calculations, specifications, drawings, cost estimates, and BOQs while ensuring compliance with applicable engineering codes, client requirements, and company standards.

Role Purpose

To prepare and manage detailed structural designs and engineering deliverables for a variety of water, wastewater, and industrial structures, ensuring technical accuracy, regulatory compliance, and alignment with client and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Calculations

• Prepare detailed structural design calculations based on field data, sound engineering assumptions, applicable codes, and standards for concrete and steel water tanks, steel structures, and other concrete structures.
• Perform structural calculations, simulations, load assessments, and capacity checks to ensure accuracy and reliability of designs.
• Carry out civil load and capacity calculations and support selection and design of appropriate equipment and materials.

Documentation & Specifications

• Prepare and review detailed structural design reports in accordance with company standards and client requirements.
• Develop project structural specifications and technical documentation.
• Prepare priced and unpriced Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and detailed project cost estimates.

Drawings & Coordination

• Create, review, and coordinate engineering drawings and specifications.
• Guide draftsmen and BIM/modeling teams in producing required tender and design drawings.
• Develop water and wastewater network designs using appropriate engineering software.

Quality & Compliance

• Review designs to ensure compliance with relevant engineering standards, codes, and client specifications.
• Provide Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) for engineering deliverables and project work.

Team Leadership & Project Management

• Manage structural engineering activities and coordinate interfaces with other engineering disciplines.
• Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering team and contribute to effective project planning and delivery.
• Conduct site visits and coordinate with clients, consultants, and project teams as required.
• Support project execution and business development activities through effective technical communication and coordination.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• 7–12 years of relevant structural engineering experience, preferably within water, wastewater, industrial, or construction projects.
• Minimum 7 years of in-Kingdom (Saudi Arabia) experience.
• Previous experience in a managerial or senior engineering capacity is preferred.
• Valid Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) certification.
• Professional Engineer certification is preferred.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge and practical experience in structural design of concrete and steel structures.
• Experience with water and wastewater structures, including water tanks and related infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of structural engineering codes and standards, including SBC, ACI, ASTM, AWWA, and NWC specifications.
• Ability to prepare structural calculations, design reports, technical specifications, BOQs, and cost estimates.
• Strong ability to read, interpret, and review engineering and technical drawings.
• Knowledge of construction materials, concrete structures, steel structures, and construction engineering.
• Understanding of CAD/BIM workflows and structural modeling.
