Role Overview

Commissioning Engineer at Al Tayer Group, Dubai, UAE.

Role Purpose

Execute Building Management Systems projects from design through to fully engineered, working, and optimized systems. Oversee all technical and operational aspects of BMS installation, commissioning, and programming while maintaining quality standards and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Project Execution & Engineering

• Execute BMS projects from paper to fully engineered, working, and optimized systems.
• Take care of all aspects of the Controls system.
• Participate in the design of the project execution in coordination with the BMS Project Manager.
• Own Project Target KPIs including efficient engineering design, on-time execution, on-scope engineering, and quality.

Commissioning & System Testing

• Lead project commissioning of Building Management Systems.
• Program, test, and commission complete BMS systems including Network, Controllers, Workstations, Sensors, and Actuators.
• Create BMS graphical-user-interfaces (GUI).
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues on highly complex systems within a set timeframe and according to a defined process, service agreement, and customer needs.

Site Coordination & Installation

• Coordinate site management with respect to installation, cabling, and termination activities.
• Provide technical coaching to less experienced service team members and coordinate on-site work activities for highly complex and multi-person jobs.

Stakeholder Management & Communication

• Maintain all lines of communication with clients, subcontractors, and across the business.
• Provide regular updates to the client and guidance to sub-contractors on project installation or commissioning requirements.
• Conduct customer training and project close-out.

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics Engineering, or relevant discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in execution of BMS projects.
• Experience in BMS project installation, commissioning, and programming, including graphical programming and/or coding.
• Good knowledge and practice of integration protocols: LON, BACnet, MSTP, TCP/IP networks, MODbus, KNX, and Profibus.
• Proven track record of understanding and analyzing technical documents for BMS.
