Role Overview
Commissioning Engineer – Mechanical, Power Plant, WSP Middle East.
Role Purpose
Provide technical expertise throughout the commissioning and testing phases of Open/Close Cycle Gas Turbine projects, reviewing contractor plans and procedures, witnessing inspections and tests, and anticipating potential issues based on prior testing experience.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Review & Verification
- Provide technical expertise by reviewing contractor plans, procedures, and logic sequences.
- Review contractor and OEM commissioning procedures and commissioning test reports.
- Review performance test procedures and performance test calculations.
- Perform independent calculations to verify OEM data.
Testing & Inspections
- Attend and approve various inspections and tests.
- Witness key testing hold points.
- Supervise and witness commissioning activities.
Project Coordination & Monitoring
- Adopt a proactive approach to anticipate issues based on past testing and commissioning experience.
- Maintain a dashboard of progress onsite for different stages of testing.
- Maintain continuous coordination efforts to integrate all project interfaces into a cohesive system.
- Demonstrate proven experience in working with multiple stakeholders in a complex environment.
Qualifications & Experience
- B.Tech in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or relevant qualification.
- Proven experience in testing and commissioning on Open/Close Cycle Gas Turbine projects.
