Role Overview
Commis I at IHG Hotels & Resorts, located in Doha, Qatar. You will be responsible for daily food preparation and assigned duties to meet set standards and qualities in a luxury hotel kitchen environment.

Role Purpose
Support the daily kitchen operations by preparing food according to menu specifications, maintaining hygiene standards, controlling food stock and costs, and ensuring consistent quality in food preparation across all kitchen sections while upholding the hotel's five winning ways values.
Key Responsibilities
Kitchen Operations & Preparation
- Support Chef de Partie or Demi Chef de Partie in daily kitchen operation and work.
- Work according to menu specifications set by the Chef de Partie.
- Prepare daily mis-en-place and food production in different sections of the main kitchen or satellite kitchens.
- Ensure the highest standards and consistent quality in daily preparation.
- Keep up to date with new products, recipes, and preparation techniques.
Hygiene & Standards
- Keep work area at all times in hygienic conditions according to hotel rules.
- Coordinate and participate with other sections on cleanliness requirements.
Cost & Stock Control
- Control food stock and food cost in your section.
- Coordinate and participate with other sections on wastage and cost control.
Task Completion
- Follow instructions and recommendations from immediate superiors to complete daily tasks.
Qualifications & Experience
- Similar experience in a luxury hotel.
- Experience in effective learning and development methods.
Skills & Competencies
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and diverse work environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English and Arabic.
- Additional language is an added advantage.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Result-oriented and self-motivated with a positive attitude.
