Role Purpose

Assist in preparing and cooking daily meals according to menus and recipes, ensuring food quality, consistency, and proper portion control while maintaining the highest standards of kitchen hygiene, food safety, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Food Preparation & Cooking

• Assist in preparing and cooking daily meals according to menus and recipes.
• Ensure food quality, consistency, and proper portion control.
• Support the Chef in daily kitchen operations and timely meal service.

Hygiene & Food Safety

• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and food preparation areas.
• Follow food safety standards and HACCP procedures.
• Ensure proper storage, labelling, and rotation of food items.

Stock & Waste Management

• Assist with stock control and minimize food waste.

Compliance & Standards

• Ensure compliance with hotel policies and safety standards.

Qualifications & Experience

• High school certificate.
• Culinary training is an advantage.
• Previous experience in a similar position is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen hygiene.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and HACCP principles.

Skills & Competencies

• Ability to work effectively in a team and under pressure.
• Good communication skills.
• Positive attitude.
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
