Commis 1 at IHG Hotels and Resorts, voco Doha Central, a pre-opening hotel located in the heart of central Doha, Qatar.

The hotel is ideally located with easy access to business districts, cultural landmarks, shopping destinations including Souq Waqif and the Museum of Islamic Art, the Corniche, and Doha Metro, with Hamad International Airport a short drive away.
Role Purpose
Develop culinary skills while contributing to a high-performing kitchen team dedicated to preparing quality meals with consistency and attention to detail. Support the delivery of exceptional dining experiences for hotel guests through passionate teamwork and commitment to operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation and Cooking
- Assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food items according to established recipes and standards.
- Prepare ingredients, mise en place, and workstation set-up for daily operations.
- Maintain consistency in food quality, portioning, and presentation.
- Ensure all food is prepared and served in a timely manner.
Kitchen Support
- Support the Chef de Partie and Demi Chef de Partie in the smooth operation of the kitchen.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver outstanding guest experiences.
Food Safety and Hygiene
- Follow HACCP, food safety, and hygiene procedures at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen areas, equipment, and storage facilities.
Inventory and Waste Management
- Assist with stock rotation, inventory control, and minimizing food waste.
Event Support
- Support banquet, catering, and special event operations as required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience as a Commis Chef or relevant culinary experience in a hotel, restaurant, or catering environment.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
- Understanding of food hygiene and safety standards.
- Culinary qualification or vocational training preferred.
