Role Overview
AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Commercial Director in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to lead and oversee the commercial management of the company's portfolio of projects in the region.

Role Purpose
The Commercial Director will ensure that projects are delivered in line with contractual obligations, financial targets, and internal governance standards. This strategic role requires a strong blend of commercial acumen, leadership, and deep understanding of engineering and consultancy services to support project delivery across the Saudi Arabia portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Management & Oversight
- Understand and interpret AtkinsRéalis rights and responsibilities across its portfolio of projects in KSA.
- Lead overall responsibility for supporting Project Directors in the delivery of projects to contractual arrangements and the required commercial outcome, including contracted profit margin, in accordance with agreed financial objectives.
- Coordinate commercial appointments for services being provided by all parties, including other Atkins Business Sectors and sub-consultants.
- Conduct commercial review and audit of live projects in the country.
Commercial Administration & Systems
- Develop and manage the commercial administration, monitoring and change control system requirements to comply with AtkinsRéalis internal business processes and systems, inclusive of risk and variation registers.
- Ensure understanding of and adherence to AtkinsRéalis internal Business Management System (BMS) and other processes.
- Monitor compliance of the Service Delivery Process throughout the project delivery phase and respond to queries.
Financial Management & Risk
- Review monthly financial reports and review any actions in respect of the Risk Register and project contingency.
- Influence improved risk management to ensure an appropriate approach to risk is considered with an objective of converting contingency to margin for live projects.
- Liaise with finance and project teams on debt management with an aim of converting debt provisions to P&L profit.
- Influence behaviours to provide early warnings of risk to projects' financial health.
Billing & Cash Flow
- Provide guidance to project teams to ensure a consistent approach to billing in line with contractual arrangements is maintained to maximise positive cash flow.
Team Development & Support
- Develop commercial understanding and competence within the Project Management and Design delivery staff in KSA.
- Support the project-based commercial staff within the country's live projects.
Claims & Insurance
- Escalate and report on claims made against AtkinsRéalis Professional Indemnity insurance or such circumstances.
Qualifications & Experience
- BEng or BSc in an appropriate engineering discipline, Quantity Surveying, or equivalent from a recognised western university.
- Professional Membership: MRICS, MCIOB, MCIPS, or MCIArb.
- 15 or more years of relevant experience with a global engineering or cost consulting firm.
- Senior-level commercial experience on at least one major design and construct project.
- Middle East experience.
