Role Overview
Elliott Group seeks an experienced CNC Machinist to join our mechanical manufacturing facility in the KEZAD Free Zone, Abu Dhabi. This full-time, on-site permanent position is critical to our expansion and focuses on the high-precision repair and maintenance of turbomachinery rotating equipment, including steam turbines, centrifugal compressors, and pumps.

Role Purpose
You will perform end-to-end manufacturing and assembly of high-precision components for turbomachinery rotating equipment, ensuring every part meets rigorous engineering specifications. As a senior technical member of the workshop, you will operate with minimal supervision, oversee production quality, and mentor other employees on all departmental functions and processes.
Key Responsibilities
Machining & Technical Operations
- Perform comprehensive layout, complex setups, manual machining, and CNC machining on both ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
- Adeptly operate vertical and horizontal lathes, milling machines, turrets, and grinders.
- Operate CNC mills and lathes by entering instructions including zero and reference points, setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches.
- Install and adjust three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; perform indicating vices and tramming heads.
- Recognize, deploy, and properly use inserts, fixtures, and tooling; sharpen and replace worn tools as required.
- Execute drilling, grooving, cutting, turning, facing, knurling, and thread chasing operations.
Planning, Assembly & Quality Control
- Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, and orthographic drawings; interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
- Conduct dimensional inspections and verify settings by measuring positions.
- Check first-run and sample workpieces against international standards.
- Perform subassembly, tool setting, deburring of parts, and final assembly of components according to specifications.
- Prove part programs and calculate requirements using basic math, geometry, and trigonometry.
Leadership, Maintenance & Safety
- Plan and oversee work with minimal supervision while directing and training other employees on all workshop processes.
- Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer's instructions, and troubleshooting malfunctions.
- Evaluate experimental procedures and recommend modifications for increased efficiency and production adaptability.
- Maintain continuity between shifts by documenting actions, irregularities, and quality logs.
Qualifications & Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 5+ years of professional experience in a mechanical manufacturing or repair environment.
- Proven experience in G-Code programming and execution.
- Extensive experience in manual machining (highly desired).
- Ability to read and interpret complex mechanical drawings, reference planes, and locations of surfaces.
Skills & Competencies
- Proficiency in basic math, geometry, and trigonometry.
- Ability to lift stock into position and manage feed mechanisms.
- Commitment to maintaining a personal inventory of basic tooling for routine setups.
