CNC Machine Operator (Entry Level)

Role Overview

CNC Machine Operator (Entry Level) at NOV, responsible for the manufacturing of Power Section (Stator & Rotor) components by following established procedures and standard operating procedures.

Role Purpose

To manufacture high-quality Stators and Rotors for oilfield directional drilling applications while maintaining strict adherence to manufacturing procedures, quality control standards, and health, safety, and environment (HSE) regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Manufacturing Operations

• Manufacture Stators and Rotors for use in oilfield directional drilling.
• Perform daily operator checklist of machines.
• Operate machines as per requirement.
• Ensure machines are running at optimal performance levels.
• Capture and measure necessary process parameters and record the readings.
• Check the stator or rotor prior to starting any process and report if in doubt.
• Ensure the stator or rotor is processed to the next step only after complete review of task performed.

Quality Control & Verification

• Verify quality control checks at each manufacturing process prior to planning or transferring the job to the next process.
• Ability to understand basic engineering drawings.
• Understand routers, drawings and procedures.

Process Compliance & Documentation

• Follow procedures related to stator and rotor manufacturing process.
• Review the necessary manufacturing procedures frequently to be fluent and aware of the critical parameters related to the process.
• Follow the operating procedures (SOP) and perform the task based on the Job Hazard analysis performed.
• Document and maintain checklists, paper routers, or any ERP system that are in place.
• Ability to document, store and retrieve information as per basic Quality Management System (QMS).

Equipment Operation & Maintenance

• Operate overhead cranes in the movement of parts or products.
• Operate Boiler, Generator, Air compressors, Forklift (License/Certification required) when needed or advised.
• Ensure the tools, gauges and equipment used in manufacturing are maintained properly.
• Assist maintenance technicians when critical machine breakdowns are being attended.
• Assist and support in the repair work of any machine or areas in the facility.

Safety & Housekeeping

• Handle products, tubes and core at elevated temperatures by following the necessary safety procedures.
• Ensure controlled use of elastomer and chemicals issued to shop floor.
• Follow housekeeping as per the 5S requirements.
• Ensure to comply with all NOV HSE procedures and policies and maintain relevant HSE logs.
• Observe HSE regulations, encourage safe working practices, correct obvious hazards immediately or report them to the proper personnel.

Reporting & Communication

• Report any abnormalities or variations observed in the manufacturing process to the concerned parties.
• Suggest or raise observations on any improvements, risks, safety concerns and good practices.
• Able to communicate in English (both writing and orally).
• Ability to present and explain basic technical information to diverse audience.

Continuous Improvement & Training

• Support and participate in the organization's Continual Improvement program and any problem-solving initiatives.
• Provide training to any new hire or operators that are under the certification program.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications & Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent with knowledge in basic math.
• Knowledge of the proper use of measuring tools, gauges and tools.
• Understanding of pneumatic, hydraulic, basic electrical systems and mechanical aptitude.
• Experience in safe use of power tools used in manufacturing industries.

Skills & Competencies

Additional Information

• Forklift License/Certification required when needed or advised.
• Boiler, Generator, and Air compressor operation may be required.
