Role Purpose

Support classroom teachers in delivering instruction and fostering the social, emotional, and physical well-being of students. Enable pupils to fully participate in a range of classroom and school activities while maintaining a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

Academic Support

• Provide academic assistance to individual pupils and groups of pupils.
• Deliver group instruction as prescribed by the teacher and provide individual instruction.
• Demonstrate various instructional activities.
• Monitor work assigned by the teacher, checking and correcting pupils' work while in progress.
• Keep pupils on task.
• Praise and reinforce achievements of pupils and report pupil progress to the teacher.

Student Wellbeing & Support Needs

• Provide support for individual pupils and groups of pupils inside and outside the classroom to enable participation in a range of activities during the school day.
• Support pupils with additional support needs, such as emotional and behavioural difficulties, and help develop their social skills.
• Provide for pupils' social, emotional, and physical well-being.
• Participate in development of behaviour policy and promote pupils' self-esteem.
• Discipline misbehaviour in line with the whole school policy.

Educational Planning & Monitoring

• Assist in the implementation of individual education programmes for individual pupils and groups of pupils and help monitor their progress.
• Assist class teachers with maintaining pupil records.
• Check attendance.

Classroom Operations

• Support class teachers in photocopying and other tasks in order to support teaching.
• Prepare and present displays of pupils' work.
• Reorganize materials at the end of the day.
• Supervise pupils in the classrooms and other locations.

Health, Safety & Professionalism

• Be proactive in matters relating to health and safety.
• Support the aims of the school; comply with the requirements of health and safety, other relevant legislation, and school policies.
• Set a good example in terms of dress, punctuality, and attendance.
• Attend team and staff meetings as required.

Collaboration

• Work with other professionals, such as speech therapists and occupational therapists, as necessary.
• Undertake other duties from time to time as the principal requires.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum attested secondary school certificate, Diploma, or Degree.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Classroom Assistant.
• UAE National only.
