Role Overview
Civil Supervisor at Samsung E&A. The position is based on a construction project site, location to be confirmed by the employer.

Role Purpose
Supervise and manage subcontractor construction activities to ensure safe, effective execution in accordance with project specifications, drawings, and engineering standards. Oversee day-to-day construction operations, coordinate cross-disciplinary interfaces, maintain quality and safety compliance, and prepare technical documentation and progress reports.
Key Responsibilities
Subcontractor Management & Supervision
- Supervise, manage, and support subcontractors to proceed with construction effectively under safe conditions in accordance with project specifications.
- Follow up with subcontractors for timely completion of works while ensuring compliance with project specifications and contracts.
- Support the subcontractor at all times and coordinate any concerns to other disciplines.
- Monitor progress and oversee delivery of materials at every stage of construction.
- Review the work of subcontractor surveyors to ensure surveying principles are correctly applied, calculations are accurate, and work complies with engineering standards.
Construction Operations & Planning
- Oversee construction operations on a day-to-day basis.
- Study drawings and execute work by managing labour, material, and machinery according to daily planning.
- Plan and schedule work and efficiently organize the site and facilities to meet agreed programmed deadlines.
- Manage construction progress by checking daily, weekly, and monthly work-done quantities.
- Ensure necessary construction drawings and materials are available in advance of construction implementation.
- Prepare construction Method Statements (M/S) based on specifications and requirements.
- Supervise and operate daily civil activities to comply with Permit to Work (PTW) requirements.
Quality Assurance & Technical Review
- Study and review drawings and specifications, including sketch approval of details and plans.
- Review and give advice on technical documents submitted by subcontractors including bar bending schedules, shop drawings, and material approval request documents.
- Review and approve bar bending schedules submitted by subcontractors.
- Detect any design errors and rectify them where possible or request the Site Engineer to make necessary changes.
- Check that construction works comply with project specifications, related standards, and the quality control plan.
- Supervise and ensure construction quality in accordance with project specifications and ITP (Inspection and Test Plan).
Safety & Compliance
- Carry out safety checks and supervise labour at every stage of construction.
- Supervise and ensure safe conditions at the construction site in cooperation with the safety department.
- Prepare Job Safety Analysis (JSA) or equivalent documents based on specifications and requirements.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare letters and technical documents concerning the project, including technical reports, project schedules, cost estimates, and bills of materials.
- Prepare cost and quantity estimates (BOQ), work schedules, correspondence to clients and subcontractors, and technical submittals such as shop drawing approval requests and material approval requests.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly construction reports.
- Record Best Practice (B/P) and Lessons Learned (L/L).
- Generate civil engineering queries and technical information requests from the company.
Stakeholder & Interdisciplinary Coordination
- Communicate with clients to resolve issues with drawings or documents.
- Coordinate with other disciplines or departments to resolve interface issues.
Qualifications & Experience
- Construction experience in oil, gas, petrochemical, or power plants as a supervisor.
- Engineering and construction company working experience in the Middle East is preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction management and engineering standards.
- Knowledge of building structures including substation, instrument shelter, workshop, laboratory, operator shelter, jetty control building, and central control building.
- Knowledge of specialty works such as tile work, painting work, waterproofing work, partition work, suspended ceiling work, raised access floor work, glass door and window, and blast-resistant door and window.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Expertise in soil improvement.
- Expertise in marine and jetty work.
- Expertise in cooling tower construction.
- Expertise in LNG concrete tank construction.
- Proficiency in STAAD.
- Proficiency in SketchUp.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Land Desktop and Earthworks Programs.
