Role Overview

Civil SME at Wood PLC, serving as the Technical Authority across a portfolio of energy, oil & gas, mining, industrial and infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia.

Role Purpose

Provide technical leadership for civil engineering design on industrial facilities throughout the project lifecycle, including proposals, concept studies, FEED, detailed engineering, construction support and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Authority & Leadership

• Act as the Technical Authority across multiple projects.
• Ensure engineering excellence and strengthen technical governance.
• Provide specialist expertise and guidance to resolve complex engineering challenges.

Design & Engineering Reviews

• Lead technical reviews during Concept, FEED and Detailed Design phases.
• Perform independent design assurance and peer reviews.
• Support the delivery of safe, innovative and high-quality engineering solutions.

Project & Business Support

• Support proposals, client workshops and business development activities.
• Contribute to technical assurance across the portfolio.

People & Standards

• Mentor engineering teams and develop technical capability.
• Develop and maintain engineering standards and best practices.
• Build trusted relationships with clients and key stakeholders across the region.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in the relevant Engineering discipline.
• Minimum 20 years of experience in Oil & Gas, Energy, Petrochemical, Mining or Industrial projects.
• Proven experience as a Technical Authority, Chief Engineer, Principal Consultant, Engineering Fellow or equivalent.
• Chartered Engineer or Professional Engineer status is preferred.

Skills & Competencies

• Expertise in site development, grading, drainage, foundations and roads.
• Knowledge of ACI, AASHTO and Saudi codes.
• Recognized industry expert with a proven track record of solving complex engineering challenges.
• Ability to influence clients and drive technical excellence across major international projects.
