Civil Estimator – EPC Tenders at Archirodon Group N.V. The role is based in the Middle East and North Africa region, supporting EPC tender activities for oil & gas, refinery, petrochemical and gas-processing projects.

Role Purpose

The Civil Estimator prepares accurate, competitive and well-qualified cost estimates for the civil, structural and building scopes of EPC and EPCC tenders across the Middle East and North Africa, working within tight timelines and managing multiple concurrent bids.

Key Responsibilities

Quantity Assessment

• Perform and verify quantity take-offs from plot plans, civil and structural GA drawings, foundation layouts, steel structure and architectural drawings.
• Develop quantities from benchmarks, ratios and historical data where FEED documentation is limited.
• Identify scope gaps, ambiguities and risks in tender documentation.

Cost Estimation & Pricing

• Develop detailed estimates for the entire scope of civil and structural works.
• Build unit rates from first principles, accounting for labour, plant, materials and subcontract costs.
• Adjust productivity norms for Middle East conditions, including summer working-hour restrictions, remote desert sites and logistics challenges.
• Price lump-sum work with limited FEED or preliminary engineering, managing the risk of quantity growth.
• Account for volatile commodity prices—steel, rebar and cement—and wide regional rate variation across the GCC and North Africa.

Planning & Coordination

• Prepare manpower histograms, construction equipment requirements and construction durations.
• Provide inputs to planning, site indirects and temporary works.
• Coordinate across disciplines to ensure pricing data integrity and consistency.

Client Management & Clarification

• Prepare technical queries and clarifications for clients where scope definition is incomplete.
• Communicate assumptions and qualifications clearly to engineering, management and clients.
• Manage different client standards, methods of measurement and commercial conditions across countries.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (mandatory).
• 5–7 years of estimating experience in EPC Oil & Gas, Refinery or Petrochemical projects.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in the GCC preferred.
• Hands-on pricing experience of the civil scope of NOC tenders, including ADNOC, Saudi Aramco, Qatar Energy, PDO and KOC.
