Chief Accountant

Role Overview

Chief Accountant at ABIS. This role leads the accounting team and is responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing accurate financial reporting to support strategic decision-making.

Role Purpose

Lead accounting operations with strong analytical ability and expertise in accounting standards and financial management. Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and internal controls while building and mentoring a high-performing accounting team.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and budgets in compliance with IFRS and company policies.
• Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes and ensure their accuracy.
• Provide financial analysis and insights to assist senior management in decision-making.
• Monitor cash flow, accounts receivable, and accounts payable activities.

Team Leadership & Development

• Manage and supervise the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
• Mentor and train accounting staff to build a high-performing team.

Compliance & Internal Controls

• Ensure compliance with tax laws, regulatory requirements, and internal controls.
• Coordinate and liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies during audits and inspections.

Policy & Process Development

• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA are highly preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in accounting roles.
• At least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial position.
• Strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and local accounting regulations.
• Experience with accounting software and ERP systems, specifically Microsoft Dynamics 365.
