Role Overview

Cardiovascular Technologist-Cardiology Services at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC).

Role Purpose

Perform advanced cardiac diagnostic and interventional techniques including cardiac echocardiography, cardiac catheterizations and interventions, electrophysiology studies, and ambulatory cardiac procedures. Interpret and report on various cardiac procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care & Clinical Support

• Prepare and educate patients prior to procedures.
• Observe haemodynamic, structural, and vascular cardiology investigations where applicable.
• Conduct cardiology investigations with correct management of haemodynamic, ultrasound, and mapping equipment where applicable.
• Demonstrate understanding or desire to learn advanced imaging and recording techniques.

Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare and interpret reports for physician review and sign-off.
• Conduct meticulous and timely documentation and reporting within the patient medical record.
• Promptly report and escalate all cardiac critical results.

Equipment & Inventory Management

• Select, manage, and efficiently use appropriate consumables and maintain inventory management.
• Appropriately calibrate and review equipment with escalation of defects in line with facility-wide policy.

Team & Organizational Development

• Actively participate in departmental training, clinical audits, and improvement projects.
• Help develop team cohesiveness by assisting team members and aligning individual work efforts to meet work unit and organizational goals for service excellence.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor of Science degree in Cardiovascular Program (required).
• Minimum 5 years relevant experience in catheterization laboratory, vascular, echocardiography, or ECG technology (required).
• Current National License (required).
