Role Purpose

Supervise weld shop operations, manage carbide welder teams, and drive continuous improvements in welding processes and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Supervision & Scheduling

• Supervise and schedule weld shop requirements.
• Train and supervise a team of carbide welders.

Process & Quality Improvement

• Develop process improvements with welders and peers, specifically related to carbide welding.
• Develop quality improvements with welders and peers, specifically related to carbide welding.

Welding & Fabrication

• Construct and repair equipment and structures such as drilling rigs, pipelines, and storage tanks using various welding techniques including SMAW, FCAW, and TIG.

Inspections

• Regularly inspect equipment and structures for damage or wear.
• Identify necessary repairs.

Safety

• Follow all safety protocols and procedures.
• Ensure adherence to safety guidelines.
• Ensure use of protective gear.

Record Keeping

• Maintain records of work performed, including materials used, welds completed, and repairs conducted.

Qualifications & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Welding certification.
• Minimum 10–12 years of carbide welding experience.

Skills & Competencies

• Ability to train and supervise a team of carbide welders.
• Knowledge of welding techniques including SMAW, FCAW, and TIG.
