Role Purpose

As a Captain A320 - Instructor, you hold ultimate authority for the safe, secure, and efficient operation of every flight while serving as a role model responsible for training and developing Etihad pilots. You are authorized to conduct training duties in line with GCAA CAR-FCL and CAR-AIR OPS regulations and Etihad Airways Operations Manual policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Flight Operations & Safety

• Ensure the safety and security of crew, passengers, cargo, and aircraft at all times
• Exercise full command of the aircraft from taxi-out to final engine shutdown
• Lead flight and cabin crew, demonstrating strong decision-making and effective crew resource management
• Operate with efficiency and environmental responsibility in line with company fuel and sustainability policies
• Deliver consistent On Time Performance to meet Etihad's commitment to reliability and guest satisfaction

Training & Development

• Display instructor competencies and uphold standards
• Provide good quality training to pilots at Etihad Airways
• Provide a positive role model to all other personnel
• Develop the potential and skills of pilots
• Provide training system and course feedback

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 5500 hours total flying time
• Minimum 2500 PIC hours on multi-crew, glass cockpit aircraft
• Minimum 1500 PIC hours on A320 Family
• Flown A320 family within the last 12 months
• Type rating on A320 valid for a minimum of 2 months at time of joining
• Unrestricted and current ICAO ATPL
• Current on A320
• Unrestricted and current Class 1 medical
• Have not attained the age of 59 years on the day of joining
• English Language Fluency (written and verbal) Level 4 or higher
• 3 years as an A320 Instructor and/or Examiner (TRI/TRE)
• 1000 hours of FSTD training
• 1000 hours of LIFUS/IOE experience
• Good technical knowledge and expertise
• Current TRE/TRI is an advantage
• Previous experience with MPL/Cadet/Ab-initio Training, Evidence-based Training (EBT), and/or AQP/ATQP are an advantage
• In case of hours accumulated on flights with inflight relief, 75% of total hours shall be counted towards required minimums

Training Delivery Compensation

• FSTD 4-hour session (FFS/FTD): AED 1,300 for a TRI, AED 1,600 for a TRE
• LIFUS or Line Evaluation of Competence: cumulative AED 800 per rotation plus AED 300 per sector plus Flying Hours Pay for all TRI/TRE
