Role Overview

Capillary Operator - Well Services at Weatherford UAE. This is a field-based skilled specialist role.

Role Purpose

Operate capillary and coiled tubing equipment, execute technical well service tasks, and supervise Assistant Operators. The role requires independent execution of capillary jobs once the supervisor approves the plan, working under the supervision of the Capillary Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

Equipment Inspection & Maintenance

• Inspect spooling unit, level wind mechanism, hydraulic system, brakes, and tension control.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance on hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic field equipment.

Conveyance Operations

• Convey capillary and coiled tubing equipment in and out of the well independently without kinking or bird-caging.
• Understand work string limitations and communicate constraints clearly.
• Monitor the work string continuously for visual defects and abnormal tension readings or parameters.

Mobilization & Demobilization

• Carry out mobilization and demobilization tasks including loading, offloading, and equipment positioning.

Documentation & Compliance

• Complete job tickets, pressure test records, and logbooks.
• Maintain accurate technical record-keeping and field data documentation.
• Create and enforce Permit to Work (PTW).

Inventory & Support

• Assist in asset and inventory counts.
• Mentor Assistant Operators.

Qualifications & Experience

• High School Diploma, GED, or Bachelor's degree.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in capillary or coiled tubing operations; slickline experience is an advantage.
• IWCF or IADC WIPC Level 2 certification preferred; candidates actively working toward certification are acceptable.

Skills & Competencies

• Proficient in operating spooling units, injector heads, and pressure control equipment (PCE).
• Knowledge of high-pressure testing procedures for PCE.
• Well control awareness and wellhead pressure management.
• Ability to read and interpret job programs, well schematics, and equipment manuals.
• Clear written and verbal English.

• Physically fit and able to work up to 12-hour shifts.
